The SC8in1 - Nokia dbox2 Set has been developed for installation of SC8in1 inside Nokia dbox2. Included in this set are SC8in1, assembled for 6 smartcard-unitss, 4 smartcard-units with PCBs and pin rows, 1 m flat cable, 10 flat-cable connectors, front cover, four pcs. 3.579MHz and two pcs 6.000MHz crystals. The smartcard-unit already present in Nokia dbox2 (slot 2) will be used as a fifth smartcard-unit. The lines for a sixth smartcard-unit can be lead outside the housing, using a 6-pole RJ45 connector.

SC8in1 is placed in the Nokia dbox2 instead of the modem. After opening the housing, the modem is removed and the SC8in1 inserted instead.

The pin rows of the second smartcard-unit have to be cut and removed. The pin rows can be removed by heating them up with a soldering device and pulling out. The first two pins of the lower PCB have to be left approximately 5mm long.

The 10pole pin row has to be soldered on the upper PCB. The first two pins of the lower PCB, which have been left with length of approx. 5mm, have to be connected with a jumper. Afterwards the soldered pin row has to be connected with the pin row of SC8in1.

The engagings of the front cover have to be loosened and the frontcover can be removed.

Using a screwdriver, the socket cover of the LCD flat cable can be opened in top direction and the flat cable can be pulled out.

The old, original cover for 2 smartcards has to be replaced with the new cover for 6 smartcards.

The plate frame has to be cut that way, so the top two smartcards can be inserted (approx. 1 cm). Either two cuts can be made and the plate bended upwards or the whole plate frame can be taken out and cut as necessary.

Afterwards the LCD flat cable is returned in its place and the frontcover inserted.

The rest three smartcard-units have to be sticked to one block.

The block has to be sticked with glue beside the already present smartcard-units.

At the end, SC8in1 has to be plugged into the modem-socket and SC8in1 connected with the smartcard-units.
